Findwide Hijacker Aaarrrrgggghhhh....

I downloaded a screen save and now I'm infected with findwide, absolute pain in the arris. Anyway Norton missed it Malaware missed it, and an suggestions online give instructions that I can carry out but it just keeps coming back. Has anyone got a reliable method of getting shot of this? I don't mind paying but I don't trust the downloads, so I'm not sure if I'm just downloading more sh1te!

Quite possibly, it keeps returning because there are still entries in the registry.
Just a thought, but, after carrying out one of the many online removal methods, finish off by cleaning the registry with Ccleaner.
I always say when using malwarebytes is than once you have cleaned rhe computer turn off System Restore before restarting as some will reinfect from System Restore.

After restart, do another scan. Only turn on System Restore when computer is clean after a restart



If you remember what day you downloaded the screensaver you could go to control panel... and uninstall everything downloaded that day.
Download Spyhunter 4 from their website and run it and it should remove it.
This is an excellent removal program but it costs $40.00 per year and is worth the money you pay for it.

hc, that's the method I tried a couple of times, just kept comming back.

Sandy, I did a system restore but it somehow still came back

anyway thanks all, I managed to clear it out by resetting firefox.

I will invest in spyhunter 4 though sounds good for the future. thanks all
