Samsung Young Mobile Phone

I am on pay as you go with tescos. Was on internet but cancelled.
On my contacts list, every one comes up twice! Why is this and can I cure it myself before running to tescos to help me out.
On everyones mobile number shown twice, their is a little box highlighted.
Help, I'm useless with mobiles and have no one around to give me a hand.
Bear with me if I come across as stoopid lol.

Could one of them be for their phone number, the other for contacting them on an application like WhatsApp or messaging?

Sorry, when they show the same number twice, only one number is highlighted.
Also, y/day i sent 3 texts and they all failed to deliver.

do you have the contacts copied to both sim card and phone memory and your contact list is set to show both?

texts failing to deliver you need to speak to tesco, might be a setting on the phone that needs changing or its a problem their end

After dong a bit of research it seems that when you have an Android smartphone (which yours is) and you register for a Google email account then your phone contact list will show all your phone numbers AND your Google email account contacts.

Could that be what happened to you?

I'm not really sure whats going on.
Some one said that the phone numbers should all come together on the phone and not shown twice.
Something about the sim and not being put on the memory?

They are copied to the phone's memory and to the sim. I can't remember which has the little marks at the side.

Hiya again abers. Phone all sorted now, and glad to hear its not something I could have solved myself. Tescos were great and all is fine --except --
When I click on the boxes to ring or text people, the calendar keeps coming on and covers what I'm trying to read! Hey, how to get rid of please?
One simple click some where?
