A long shot - is anyone else having problems with the DVLA website?

I'm trying to SORN a couple of cars but keep getting an error when I enter the reference number (yes, I'm sure I'm entering it correctly.)

Both are due for renewal at the end of the month, I did wonder if I was just too early?

I had the same problem last week , but it seems that..
"In order to reduce administration costs, SORN - Statutory Off Road Notifications - will now last indefinitely and not require renewing every year."

This happened as of December last, so presumably you only need to act if you wish to re-tax your car.

Thanks for that slaney, would have been handy if the DVLA had put something about that on the renewal form!

I agree - an explanatory note would have been helpful, and I wouldn't have wasted so much time...
