Who Will Ebay Side With In A Dispute?
2 Answers
I recently sold an iPhone 4S on eBay as faulty! It won't work with the touch screen and so I thought I would sell it as I didn't think it was worth spending £20 -£30 on a new screen when I was due an upgrade. So I clearly said it turns on but doesn't work and that I didn't know what was wrong with it so sold as faulty and for parts only! The winning bidder never asked me any other questions even though I listed everything I knew about it. I sent the phone and he has now opened a dispute saying it's not as described as when he opened it up it smelt of burning! However I didn't know any of this when I sold it otherwise I would have said in listing trouble is he bought it knowing it was faulty so why should I have to give him a refund! Question is who will eBay side with?

In my admittedly few experiences with eBay disputes, and now a little while in the past, always as a buyer, eBay always sides with the seller even when it is blatantly obvious they are con merchants. I don't trust them an inch, they seem to just want to wash their hands of any issue the easiest way they can.
