Why can't I get all of the channels on Freeview - for example I'm missing Sky News, Sky Sports News and Sky Travel, amongst others.

It will sepend on what channels arre available in your area.
The other main factor is the antenna.. I could receive some but not all channels using an old 30+ yr old tv antenna.. I bought a new wideband one (about �12) and received all channels without problem (no missing pixels, etc).

Oops.. depend. Antenna was 20+ yrs od not 30. Grrr.. damn typos. FYI in my area ftn was one of the weakest channels
