Cannot Connect Printer To Internet
5 Answers
I have an epson XP205 wi-fi printer which i installed using a disc. i set it up to run with the wi-fi and apart from the occasional refusal to connect it has worked OK. I have recently had to change the passkey for the router so now the printer cant connect to it. i cannot work out how to change the passkey in the printer wi-fi set up without deleting it and starting again. unfortunately i cant find the disc that came with it.

Oops! Sorry about that. The page I liked to is definitely where you get to by following links from Epson's support pages for your printer but it seems to assume that the printer has an LCD display on it (which, looking at pictures of the printer, I now see that it doesn't).
Try downloading 'EpsonNet Config' from here:
ftp://download.epson-europe.com/pub/download/3779/epson377972eu.exe
(As that link is 'ftp', and not 'http', you'll probably need to copy and paste it into your browser's address bar. When you've downloaded the file, double-click on it to run it). That looks like the set-up utility that you need.

unfortunately that wont work either. it seems to want to locate a network connected printer. but it isnt connected to the internet because i cant connect it to the internet because of the network key having changed. bit of a catch 22 then. i cant set it up to connect to the router because it wants it to be connected to the internet in the first place. if it was, i wouldnt have this problem. this cant be right. i am just going to have to go in my loft and search out the disc that came with it, i know i will have it somewhere, and delete it and start again. but thanks for trying to help anyway.
well, having downloaded drivers and all sorts of stuff from epson, it would appear that my router (sky) is rubbish as they want me to use some push button/enter a pin and these routers do not allow this. so it really is back to the drawing board and try from scratch. i have not been happy with sky's router for some time and this is just the final straw. my only other option would be to change the pass key back to the original one but this is causing me a problem that i have posted previously. i.e. the i-pad has lost the ability to use caps shift and the original pass key is - you've guessed it - caps shift. so my choices are no wireless printer, or no i-pad connected to the internet. until i find the disc that is. why do they have to make this so complicated.
