Vinyl To Cd

I have a turntable with a USB slot to download music to my computer. The software with it is basic and one side of a LP is saved as a file and the other side as another file, which means if I copy to CD I need two CDs for each LP. Can anyone recommend better software?

Why can't you copy more than one file to a CD? You can certainly do it as mp3's. I imagine you can convert them to wav files and copy more than one to a CD.
BTW I've been told that "Audacity" is very good and is free to download.

Is the software you've got Audacity? (It's what's most commonly provided with USB turntables). If so, you simply need to join the two files into one:

i use iTunes to burn my cd's just add the files to a playlist

While I'm happy that my post above correctly tells you how to join two mp3 recordings together, like others, I can't see why you'd actually need to do it. Any disc burning software should enable you to create a CD with several mp3 files on it, including Windows Media Player:

If you are to record both sides don't forget to turn the CD over after the first one.

I think what the OP means is that he is using a turntable that converts the tracks to digital MP3s, and that of course he can only convert one side of the disc at a time, so Buenchico's first answer is the answer he needs using Auda city to join up the two sides, and then he use media player to transfer all the MP3s to one CD.

Thanks everyone. Old_geezer almost got my vote for the best - just for the laugh. Actually I did once know someone who transferred an LP to cassette, and turned the cassette over at the same time as turning the LP. Considering the length of some of those cassettes it was a lot of wasted tape!!
