To think I thought a Blu-Ray player would just up scale DVD's and play disks. Now it seems even these have been got by the geeks and sing, dance and make cake all at the same time!Seriously though I am baffled as to what they can do and what I want it to do. I have a smart TV, (Samsung UE39F5500) and was wondering if I even need a Blu Ray player that has internet thing bobs,or would an old fashioned none internet one do just as good a job?
I only play DVD's at the minute, but upscaling is a big issue-I want it.Is a 3D upscaler any good,or would it just give me a headache?
So,long story short, can anyone recommend one that they use,is easy to use,but I will still be technically happy with this time next year?
Sorry if its long winded, but I am very, veryconfused
dont bother with a "3d" dvd player its on its way out.
a good blu-ray player from any major manufacturer will be ok but you do know you have to by blu-ray dvds too to get top quality play back .it will play standard dvds and "upscale them but not to blu-ray quality
if you have smart tv you dont need a dvd player with the internet
I opted for a Sony PS3 - not that I play computer games, but mainly for its blu-ray player. You can link it to the Internet whenever it needs upgrading (about once a year from experience), and is also handy for storing/playing music files and photos. Prices are falling cos PS4 is now here, so you should be able to find a decent one for £130 - £190 depending on hard disc space.
