I have purchased a Blue Tooth dongle for my Dell computer.

How do I now transfer photos and other items from my Sony Xperia L phone to my computer, and will I be able to plug this device into my laptop and carry out a similar exercise?

To be safe I want to retain the photos etc on my mobile until I am sure they have transferred successfully, is this possible?

Thanks in anticipation.

Doesn't one first have to set the device up in the PC and then do something with the phone to recognise this device?
Is the dongle installed and recognised by your PC ? If not, you might have to install a driver in order for it to work.
If you are using MW Windows it ought to recognise the dongle when you connect it, and load the relevant drivers from its store, and tell you on the screen it is doing so. (If the dongle came with an installation disk it might hold a more recent set of drivers you could use. Or you could check its website.)
Arrrrrhhhhhhhhhhh
