Do you have a scanner function on your printer? If so, scan the document, then it will autosave into your documents - or possibly direct into your photo gallery, depending on how it's set up. I have an HP printer, it saves scans direct to my document folder where I can rename it and move it to where I want it.

Hi boxtops, Looking at the printer, it does say 'scan'. Beyond that I'm lost.
There will be how tos and in depth instructions on line at Canons site for sure.
OK - put your photo face down on the scanner screen, and press the scan button - and see what happens.
The printer does have a scanner function.

I assume the photo you want to copy is printed on paper?

If you have installed all the software that came with the printer then there should be a Scan option amongst the options on the Windows menu (assuming you are running Windows).

Place the photo face down on the "glass" on the printer.

Select the Scan option from your list of options on the Windows menu (assuming there is one).

This should scan the photo and save it as an image, probably a jpg file. It will probably save it in your My Pictures folder.

You can then move the photo into the correct folder so it can be displayed in your photo gallery.
