Cd Burning

I've got a Toshiba Satellite laptop with Window 8. I've used an number of different makes of CD-R's and five different burning software applications but one of every ten discs when burned turn out to be still blank. DVD's seem to be burning OK. I've changed my disc drive and updated it's driver.
