Deleting Cosstminn?
14 Answers
I'm being bombarded with pop-ups each time I use eBay.
Also, here on AB, certain words are shown in capitals and in colour, and when I put the cursor on the coloured word, I am directed to a selling site. I can see the words 'Ad powered by Cosstminn'.
I've Googled to try to find out how to delete Cosstminn with no success. I've tried to uninstall it but as it's not showing in my list of programs, I don't know how to go about it.
Please can anyone advise on how to get rid of it?

The free version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware usually fixes the problem:

Thank you Hans. I've looked at my settings and 'Don't allow pop-ups from any site' is selected but it isn't stopping the pop-ups, and this thing with words in capitals and links to adverts is happening on all the websites I visit, not just Answerbank and eBay.
OH thinks the problem is with Google Chrome and he has suggested deleting Google Chrome. I'm a bit worried about doing that as my computing skills are very basic and I don't want to risk c0cking it up and losing everything - I suspect I need to get a computer engineer to sort it.
Thanks again for your help (you too jno).

Hi Methyl, I am on a laptop, using Windows 7 and I was using Google Chrome, but I have removed Google Chrome and this seems to have solved the problem. I am now using Internet Explorer and although it is early days, it's going well so far.
Cosstminn is the exact spelling that was coming up. I am normally a patient person but it was driving me to dispair. Hopefully it is the last I'll see of it. :o)
Thanks for your reply.

Wise move mrs.chappie.
No way will I entertain Google Chrome having suffered from it and knowing that it is a troublesome browser. In fact, if it is humanly possible, I am avoiding anything which involves Google...including its Search Engine and am at present my default is Bing; along with Duck Duck Go and the unfortunately named but excellent.. Dogpile.
