Getting Music To My Mp3 Player

A further question re my MP3 player.I connect the player to my PC and transfer music files to the removable drive (my MP3 player I presume) but after the transfer there are no files in any of the 5 playlists in my MP3 player. What an I doing wrong?

How are you transferring them? Drag and drop? Copy and paste? What type of mp3 player have you got?
Loads of youTube videos for you to view if you're really struggling.

Are you tranferring them to a specific file or are just transferring them to the mp3 payer. Do you get a progress bar showing after you have initiated the transfer?

I go to "My music" file then I go to "Edit" and from the drop down menu select "select all".
I then drag the files to the removable disk icon.I get the progress bar and it takes about 12 minutes to do the transfer.
It's a Bush model MPK8099BUK.

has the mp3 player got a 'recently added' feature....mine has and that's where I look first.

As per my post on your other thread, have you double-click on the icon for your media player to see if it contains folders (into which you need to place your music)?

there is no recently added option and when my MP3 player is connected to the PC and I click on removable drive icon all the music is there

As I've been trying to explain, some media players won't read music files straight from the 'root directory' (where your files currently are). They need to be accessed from within folders.

If there are already some folders in the root directory (alongside the music files), try moving some of the music files into one of them, to see if the media player can then 'see' them. If there are no folders there, right-click and select New > Folder and create one (call it 'Test' or similar). Then move some files into it. (You're hoping that the media player will see 'Test' as an album, containing the tracks you put in it).

As you would have gathered I don't know what root directory etc etc is so I'm explaining what I see and what I do.
I go to "My docs" then "My Music" where there is a folder called "Music mix" and on this page..
.....following your suggestions I click on "File" and from the drop down menu select "New folder" which I called "Test"..I move all the music from "music mix" to this folder and then right click it and select "explore"..This shows all the music in the folder...From the "Edit" menu I select "Select all"...I then click on one of the songs and drag all of them to the removable disk icon which then asks me if I want to replace Helen Sjoholm, Du maste finnas with Helen Sjoholm, Du maste finnas etc etc..so the songs are already there?? I really need a step by step idiots guide. I'm off to bed guys but I suggest you take a look at Helen on you tube..she's out of this world

You're looking for folders (and creating them) in the wrong place.

Stop dragging stuff to the removable disc icon and double-click on that icon instead. You'll then be viewing the 'top level' of its contents, which is known as its 'root directory'. (i.e. it's the starting point before you get into any folders).

If I've understood your posts correctly, you've copied all of your music files there so (obviously) that's what I'd expect you to see there. However I'm asking you if there are ALSO some folders shown there (NOT on your computer!).

If there are, try dragging some of the music files into one of the folders to see if you can then see that folder and its contents on your MP3 player. If there's no folder in there, try creating a 'Test' folder (there, not on your computer!), as above, to see if it then shows up as an album called 'Test'.

Thanks for your patience Buenchico. I'm losing the will to live.I've been online to Youtube but i can't keep up with what is being said and shown.
They seem to show that I should be in Windows media player or VLC media player??..anyway...
When I connect the MP3 player to my PC I get 2 new icons..1 is CD ROM E and the other is Removable disk F
When I double click Removable disk F I get this list:Music,Pictures,Playlist,Record, to MP3 player (I think I created this one),TXT, best songs ever,Video and finally a list of all my music songs.
When I double click CD Rom E, a folder MP3set5.01appears and I tried to put the music there but it wouldn't allow it.
I hope you can understand what's happening cos I can't :-)

I have absolutely no idea why you're getting an icon for CD ROM E but please IGNORE IT!!!

Double-click on the icon for Removable Disk F. (That's your MP3 player). Then double click on the 'Music' folder. If the window you're looking at takes up all (or most) of your screen, resize it so that you've got space for another window alongside it.

Then open your 'My Music' folder, so that you've now got two windows open side by side. Drag a few music files across from 'My Music' (on your hard drive) to 'Music' (on the removable drive). They should now be available to play on your MP3 player.

If that works you can then simply repeat the process and drag the remaining files between the two windows. However you might want to experiment with creating some folders (which serve as albums) within the 'Music' folder on the removable drive. For example, right-click within the 'Music' window, go to New > Folder and create a folder called (for example) 'Funk'. Then double-click on that folder and drag some funk tracks into it. You'll then probably find that your MP3 player sees a 'Funk' album containing the relevant tracks.

Thank you Buenchico.You've finally got thru to me and I now have a working MP3 player .Thanks for your patience.At 69 years old I don't think I'll create a Funk folder as I'm more into Helen Sjoholm and First Aid Kit :-)
