Burnind A Windows Media File To A Dvd Didc.

My operating system is Windows XP and I have a Windows Media/Video File that I wish to burn onto a DVD disk so that I can then watch it on my TV.

I am able to burn it onto a CD Disc which I can then watch on my computer via Window Media Player, but can anyone tell me how to burn it onto a DVD disc?

Burning to a DVD is the same process as to a CD. :-

Thanks Hans but it will only let me copy and burn the file to a CD, when I put in a blank DVD it tells me that I haven't put in a CD or that the disc is full.

Sorry if I may have put you on a wild goose chase.

It now appears from my research that XP is not equipped for burning to DVD.; only to CD.

Looks as if you will have to purchase something such as Nero, or search the Net for a free download of some suitable software.

I have Win XP and use a FREE program called Any Video Converter (Google for it)
This program will convert the original file to a VOB file which will then play on the TV.

Just a thought, is your player classed as CD/DVD or just CD ??

Hi, AOG, My earlier computer had a CD drive which only did CDs whereas now they are all CD/DVD drives and deal with either.
Just wondered!
