We have a new IT Manager and as soon as he started he got everyone new Dell computers. He is also sitting on a stock pile of free Dell printers that I believe he will be giving to family and friends as xmas presents. And he looks shifty as he has a slight beard and squeaks when he walks!!!!!

We have a very similar IT Manager where I work. I think these IT people get commission (cash/free gifts) depending how many computers/equipment they buy from certain suppliers.

I personally hate IT managers and don't trust them one bit,- our's happens to be a scout leader too (not condemning scout leaders but...), hmmmmm...

I'm assuming you're in the private sector? Wouldn't be able to get away with that in the public sector. Suppose it depends on how much you want to get involved. For example, I'm responsible for asset tagging / inventory - so I would receive the delivery of the computers and the free Dell printers, get them all tagged and logged as a company asset, and be responsible for tracking their whereabouts. But some companies, you stick your nose where it's not wanted and it's gonna get hurt, LOL. Ggggrrrrrrr, managers.......

Fantastic outburst, buddha01!!

Big round of applause from me. I couldn't care less about IT managers - I just liked the outburst.
Brilliant.

Poor guy - stuck with a pile of Dell printers to try and get rid of!  Why do you think Dell give them away? :-)

Slight beard - hmmm - you may have a point there - yes I think he's definitely on the take!
