Further to my question and your very kind answers the problem was indeed on Microsoft Outlook 10. I have the shortcut to the mail page which tells me it cannot configure, repair Microsoft Office. Tried with no result. Wonder if going to Microsoft site would be the best thing? Thank you.

Did you remove Microsoft Office in Add/Remove Programs?
Look through 'All Programs' via the Start menu button, to see if it's still there.

If you have removed it, you will have to re-install it from the source you originally installed, either CD or D/Load.

Meant to add

If it still is listed from the Start Menu, right click on the 'Microsoft Office Outlook' program and choose 'Send to' and then 'Desktop (create shortcut)'
