Samsung Tablet Dead

As above, my Samsung Galaxy Tab has died on me. It's less than a year old and was a free gift when my son upgraded his phone. There's no receipt etc - might it be covered by warranty? I'm not sure where to take it to have to assessed for repair either.

If you need reboot, press and hold down the “Power” button on your Samsung tablet for a few seconds. Release the button when the “Power Options” menu appears on your tablet. Wait for the device to shut off and hopefully it will power back on its own. Once your lock screen appears again, your tablet is successfully rebooted.
