Deleting Email Contact Addresses On Kindle Fire Hd.

I have deleted email contact addresses from laptop and wish to delete several unwanted ones from the kindle fire hd....problem is that Amazon say to go to contacts and delete but that screen when I go there is empty.

I go to type in an address to email and all old ones appear in a list and there seems no way to delete them.Have tried holding down but it just enters in the line as if you were wanting to use it.....I can't sync anything as there is nothing to sync....any step by step help would be great.

I have similar in that I have no actual contacts....presumably the addresses come from a link to the actual account. Try deleting the actual account from the kindle or last resort do a factory reset.
