I need to supply the UDID for my ipad in order to participate in some beta testing. The instructions to find the UDID, and everything similar online, tells me to connect my ipad to my mac and launch itunes. I don't have a Mac or a pc, any ideas where my UDID is on my ipad?

It's a Unique Device Identifier (UDID), which is a sequence of 40 letters and numbers that is specific to your device.
Do you have a friend/ relation who uses iTunes on a PC or a Mac?

Go to Settings/General/About/Udid or on my iPhone its Seid and there's the code.

I have never connected my ipad to a computer, maybe that's the problem. Googling this tells me i might have to pay for an app to find it?

No you don't need to pay, iTunes will display the number, find someone who uses iTunes and I'll guide you through it or Methyl's first suggestion is good.

Thanks for the offer to help Milvus, its kind of you. Unfortunately I don't know anyone with itunes well enough to ask them to help me with this, but I am going into town so I might try the Apple store as suggested.
