Programming A Sat Nav.
5 Answers
I have to go to Huddersfield to collect my daughter from Uni in a few weeks. When we took her there the sat nav took us there by a fairly direct route, but coming back it took us all over the place. Is there any way to specify how the route home,or to simply reverse the route it gave you to get there?

I usually apply one of two options over this. The first is to enter into the sat-nav the way-points (towns) you want to go through. This will allow you to effectively stipulate the route yourself.
The other method I've used is to use an online route-planner such as AA, RAC or Greenflag and adjust the route if necessary by adding in the towns via the "via" option until you get a route you're happy with. When the route is transferred to the sat-nav, the route will be identical to what you devised online.
I appreciate both these options are laborious and should not be necessary, but one or the other should work for you.
