i got 2 phoney ebay emails about "account suspended"-i did not enter the details they requested and deleted them , but my "watch this topic", "my ebay" and "sign in" links do not load
when i tried "watch this topic" my firewall message was about allowing access to"remote port443(HTTPS HTTP protocal over TCS/SSL" - complete gobbledeegook to me
any ideas?

HTTP over TCP/SSL is the secure channel browsers use to communicate private information (eg, credit card details, user details etc). If your firewall is blocking outgoing connections on port 443, you will not be able to use a browser securely.

Even if you did not fill in the details, did you click on any link in the body of the e-mail as even this is enough to pick up a Trojan from some of these phishing e-mails.

In future, simply forward it to [email protected] or whatever organization it refers to and then delete the e-mail.

In the meantime, I would carry out FULL scans with your antivirus and antispyware programmmes to find out if you have contracted any malicious software.This is best done in Safe Mode .
