How can I save things to a memory stick from my hudl tablet as it doesn't have a USB port like my laptop had. Do I have to buy yet more hardware

I've just checked out the specificatio ns of a few Hudl models. They all seem to come with a micro-USB socket and they all seem to be supplied with an adapter cable (that simply plugs in between your Hudl and your memory stick). So the only problem you're left with is remembering where you put that cable when you opened the box! (Don't panic if you can't find it...

Not that I know much about hudl, but if your memory stick has a USB connection then you need a USB port somewhere to plug it into.
Does the hudl communicate with the Internet ? If so could you temporarily put your private data into an Internet storage area and later download it via a PC to your flash drive ?

Your tablet will possibly have a mini or micro USB slot, you can buy USB memory sticks to fit these slots, above is just one of this kind, many more are available.

There is also the option to use a larger memory card that whatever is already there and use that to transfer the content you wish to save to your main PC.

You could also get a micro USB to USB cable like this one and plug one end into the Hudl and the other end into your USB flash drive (memory stick).

The easiest way is to save things to the cloud - online storage. I use Google Drive which is free but there are plenty of other free options.
You can then access your Google Drive from any pc or tablet connected to the internet and download the files if you want to.
Maybe Hudl comes with its own online storage?
I have been using online cloud storage for years, started with PhotoBucket for my photos and still use it. No problem at all.
