Android Tablet Hacked Asking For Money

Hi i have not been looking at porn but this thing has attached itself to my android tablet and telling me in order to get reattached I must pay £100 to a paypoint is this a scam and it says Ive been looking at porn whcih I havent been how do I reboot my tablet

Most definitely a scam. You can't access anything until you unlock the tablet now. This is happening a lot.

Seems to be sorted now I restored my factory settings I lost a lot but it could have been worse £100 !!

I wonder what would happen you would probably be put on a suckers list. If the police were really watching you not that they have any reason would they really announce it and get people to destroy evidence??

If the malware isn't well known and you have vital information not backed up elsewhere then one might consider paying the crooks the quickest way to get out of the situation. But once the way to unlock the problem is known, that scam is all but dead.

First I've heard that looking at porn was a finable offence anyway.

Ive sorted it I reset the tablet to factory settings and it disappeared

The message is usually accusing the pc owner of looking at child porn, which is of course an arrestable offence. There was a very sad consequence of this ransomware this week where a teenager with learning difficulties committed suicide.

I just read about that poor teenager killing himself as a result of this it is tragic
