how do i download stuff from the net?

how can i get hold of a video if it's quicktime and imbedded in the webpage? I thought it would be cached in my machine, but it's not there. cheers.

I think the paid-for version of QT allows you to save any file. If it is a film trailer, Dave's Trailer Page has a lot of download links.
Quicktime Pro allows you to save the files.
If it's embedded in a webpage it shouldn't matter which version of quicktime you're using. If it's online it's there for the world to use and abuse and there's no way of having any control over it once it's online.
I use Ant Video Downloader to download from any streaming sites.
Download and install Ant Video Downloader in internet explorer or firefox.
Go to the page where the video is playing. Click the Download Button when video is buffering. Close the page or search another video.
When the download completes click the Player Button to play the video.
It is totally free and contains no adware or spyware at all.
