Can Anyone Help With This Please?
11 Answers
I set my homepage in Internet Options as Google Chrome, but when I click to open it, I get Yahoo. I checked the preference again in Internet Options, and it's still Google Chrome, but still opens with Yahoo. All the options on the page are Chrome related but the main feature is Yahoo. I've tried a System Restore but this doesn't work. It's as though Yahoo is hijacking my home page settings. Does anyone know what might be causing this? Thanks.

Thanks for the replies. I went into Internet Options from Control Panel and set Google Chrome as the default browser. I did choose a restore point prior to this happening. Surely, if I click on the Chrome icon, then Chrome should open but it shows as Yahoo. I'm baffled. I'm just going to look at methyls' link.
Go into ...internet options .. where it says' home page' there will be a box below it... in the box type .. http:// www.goo gle.co. uk/
click Apply or Okay.
I'm guessing you want Google as your home page ?

It looks very much as if you've set your default browser to be Chrome, and your Home Page (which is not the same thing) to be Yahoo.
Just open the browser, then go to the site (such as google.co.uk) that you want for you home page.
Then click the 3 bars icon at the top right of the browser and choose settings.
In the On start-up section, there should be a dot next to "Open a specific page..."
To the right of that it says "set pages" Click on that and then click "Use current page"

Based on what you have written I'd agree with others that this seems to be confusion on your part. Google has a website, it's a web search page. Google Chome is the name of an Internet browser they offer, and is not a webpage and thus cannot be set as a homepage. Yahoo also has a webpage, nowadays a cross between a news page and web search; and it seems it is that which you have set as your homepage. Go look at your Chrome's Internet settings and change the one set up as your homepage to whatever it is you really want.
