I am using Mozilla Firefox as default browser.Last few times I've loaded it a number of copies have loaded up.(About a dozen or so) Do I need to delete Firefox and re-install, or has anyone any idea why this has just started to occur? I guess I've got a bug from somewhere.

I would think you just have to download the latest version and that should take care of the rest.
Click 'Help' in the Firefox Menu Bar at top of page, then click 'About Firefox' and reveal a Notice that will indicate if your Firefox is up-to-date. It should show 36.0.4 or allow you to up-date from that point.
