Blue Screen On My Tv

Can anyone help?
I have a big Bang & Olufson TV, about 18 years old. For the last week or so, every time I switch it on, it just displays a blue screen with vague stipes across it.
I have to turn it off and switch it on again about 10-15 times before it will start up properly.
I have recently attached a new set top box, but it had all been working perfectly alright, up until last week.
Any ideas?

Thats way past most tvs use by date,you have had a good run with that,time to give it the last rites
