Hi,my McAfee antivirus suite expires shortly, and I was wondering if anyone can reccomend something better.I've already had Norton in the past, and found them as bland and "average" as McAfee.

I already run Spybot S&D,Webroot Spysweeper, and adaware .Any suggestions appreciated.

Panda. They have an internet product out right now, Antivirus 2005 or something like that, that also includes a firewall.

I use their 2004 antivirus (will upgrade once my subscription runs out), and it's great.

many thanks fo3nix,will put them on the list to be investigated,I've heard its a good suite
Over the last 10 years I have used about every AV programme there is, AVG, Norton, PC-cillin etc., but I now have Avast, which is a free programme, and I am very pleased with its performance. It's auto-updated almost daily and I would recommend it on my personal experience alone. It does what it says on the packet.

dsimiller: my recommendations are either AVG or Avast, both have free versions that are very good, allways being updated with the latest databases, and i've never had a problem using either (and they're free!!!)

thanks for your reply PvtSniper,my list  of alternatives is growing. Its a shame I cant try them all out first eh?

Panda Titanium 2005 is the best.  It's the easiest to use, updates every day on its own - and comes with a Firewall.

I did have  PC-Cillin for a year but it let in too many viruses - Panda has blocked every one and also hijackers plus Adware. You can tell I love it ;-)
