a song file usually does beween 3 and 6 Mb. (depending on its length and quality)

Yes you can link up to an amp, there are all sorts of audio cables available, there will certainly be one that fits.

My I-pod shuffle is 512mb and I can roughly get 120 songs on there depending on length and bit rate. It's easy to link it to your amp - you need a lead with two male RCA audio connectors (usually red & black) at one end and the small stereo headphone jack (3.5inch)at the other. Stick the RCA ends in to the aux socket at the back of your amp and the other end in to the headphone socket on your i-pod and select aux on your amp. This will depend on your amp of course....

You can usually find these leads quite cheap on ebay.

Just search "3.5MM STEREO PLUG TO 2 X RCA PHONO PLUGS"

Thanks

Apple tends to refer to 4Mb as a song so when they released the 4GB Ipod Mini they were boasting it could hold approx 1000 songs.
