Cant Access My Microsoft Account / Hotmail.com

i made an email acccount with hotmail.com . i forgot my password. when i opened account i gave my phone number and d.o.b.

now it is requesting me to give all kinds of private and weird details like my credit card number, my best childhood friend ( i dont ever remember giving them that as a security answer as i never really had a best childhood friend) though i did give thm my mums maiden name as a security question so why didnt they ask me this ?

strange. is there a way of contacting them with out all this hassle

Are you sure you are actually on the Hotmail (now called Outlook) site?
I can't imagine any circumstances under which MS would ask for a credit card number.

They do if you get locked out. They want all sorts of details. Sorry, can't help, dd. I restarted a new account with them in the end.

They ask for certain numbers of it.
