Try the phrase "iphone 6 and ransomware" in your favourite search engine

Here's the top result I got

@murraymints

Sadly, Malware bytes is for PC (Microsoft operating systems).

iPhone is Macintosh architecture, so cannot run PC software.

Malware bytes' blog does mention iPhone6 but only in the context of scam unlocking sites

ah ..ta hypo did not know that...
If you haven't started to wipe everything off your phone, try this first. The message is a scam on a scam. It doesn't really do anything but get in the way.
Read this recent article https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-8071, then go down to the paragraph on IOS and follow the instructions. No need to recover anything
Sorry late to this post.

You are looking at javascript on your browser.

Double click the Home button to close safari window.

Then swipe the Safari pane up to close it.

Go to settings, General and go to Safari in the list.

Open Safari settings and delete all history, cookies caches.

When you open Safari the annoying ransom box will have gone.

Hi thanks for all your comments. Milvus the link doesn't work. Have managed - with your help - to stop it continually popping up. How do I removed it from my phone if malware won't work on an iPhone?
How strange. I can still see the page from one route but not through Apple. In any case Gromit has the important bits in his post. The malware isn't on your iPhone, its just on that web page. Follow Gromit's instructions, and you will find Clear History and Website Data. Click that and you should be OK
It is not in General, it is just in settings and scroll down to Safari.

Once you have emptied history the pop up will be gone.
