Setting Google As My Home Page

I'm using Safari on my iPad and I recently updated to the newest iOS thing. When I open a new page to search for something the whole page is blank - I used to open up the page and google was there - how do I get it back? (I have no idea what I've done to it.)

Sorry - didn't explain my self properly, wanted to be able to open an internet page and Google just magically appear.

I don't know what an IOS page is. Can you get a google app for your iPad, if not, do a search for Google in the top search box and bookmark it.

My link provides you with a shortcut icon that you simply use instead of the normal Safari one; it will then do exactly what you're requiring (i.e. open Safari with Google already there for you).

Why do you need Google to appear, the box at the top of the screen is a search bar so if you've chosen Google as your search engine antything typed in there will be searched. The new tab should show your favourites so if you add Google as a favourite then it will show up there.

Click on this link https://www.google.co.uk and as Chris's link says, tap the box and arrow icon at the bottom of the screen and tap 'Add to Home Screen'.

I'm probably not explaining myself very well (sorry), I've got the new web page to open up with a choice of search engines now - which is better. Maybe it's just the way the updated iOS is? Thanks for trying to help me though.

Ok, got it now - the bar at the top of the page doesn't need 'www' - sorry, it didn't look right so I thought I had killed it.

If you want the ggogle icon to appear when you open safari you have to save it (or any other page) to your favourites. So to set a favourite you need to tap the book icon at top left tap favourites. Tap edit at the bottom and type in the page/site you want. An icon will then appear when you open safari
