Using Extension Monitor

I have connected my (VGA) Dell monitor to my Samsung laptop via VGA connection & would like to switch off the laptop screen & only use the larger external monitor. Please can one of you AB Techies talk me through this ?

(Possible) Method 1: Locate the 'Fn' key on your keyboard and note its colour. Then look through the keys that have got symbols in the same colour on them. If you've got one that shows a monitor screen symbol (possibly with a line through it) or perhaps a pair of monitor symbols, try pressing that key and the Fn key simultaneously.
