Limit On Long Texts?

I have unlimited texts on my plan with EE, and I want to send a huge detailed text to someone. My message keeps coming back as failed - is it because it's a very long text over 10 in total? Do I have to break the text up into shorter segments? It may not be this reason - it may be EE playing silly tatas!

SMS messages are limited by the technology to around 160 characters. Some phones will automatically split large texts into multiple messages. What does "Over 10 in total" mean? "Over 10" what?
I can't imagine that anyone is going to be pleased to receive a huge text, especially if it arrives as 10 or 20 separate SMS messages.
Over ten characters ?

Texts are just 180 characters (if memory serves me correctly and it may not) long. Later tech allowed one to send up to 3 texts and I think some characters were control characters added so the receiving phone could "paste them together" and display them as if they were one text. Modern day so called "smart" phones seem to change the method of sending from "text" to "data" if the text is longer than 3 texts long. Which means you need a data aspect to your account/plan to send it.

But you can still send hundreds of characters in a "size 3" text message.
160 is it ? That post wasn't there when I started typing :-)

My Samsung phone shows how many 160 character texts you are accruing as you type. If its a long message you see it at the side as a number of texts within the one message. I'm used to sending long texts to this person as she doesn't use email very often as she is out and about. It doesn't matter how many texts I send as I'm on "unlimited texts" on my phone package. It was just the length of the text I was querying as I wondered if there was a limit of words/characters which could be sent at any one time to the same person. It seems to be solved now and must have been a fault with their phone as all other texts have sent correctly this afternoon. Thanks for your advice/suggestions.
