Vodafone - Not Registered On Network

How long should I realistically wait to have a new mobile phone and contract with Vodafone registered? After waiting 24 hours I went back to Carphone Warehouse where the fone was bought as the phone stated 'Not registered on network'. It transpired after a number of calls that Vodafone had not received the details of the new contract from the shop. The original contract was cancelled, and a new one created. Will it be 24 hours for connection or should the 5hrs I have already waited indicate yet another problem? Thanks

You mean all phones are not useable on first switch on outside the shop ? Never had a pay monthly in arrears phone myself but for any phone if it didn't work immediately I'd be going back and playing merry hell with the retailer !

Can only say that I haven't. SIMs are already registered on the database so it works out of the box. But I accept credit check contracts may be different. So how long did you wait ? An hour ? Two ?
