Removing Icon From Taskbar

Recently, whenever I have started up using Chrome, the Spotify
Icon has appeared in the task bar. I have to remove it by clicking
'close window' but it is a nuisance.
How can I prevent the Icon appearing every time?

I don't use Spotify (or, indeed, Chrome) but googling suggests that the following might help:

In Spotify, go to 'Preferences' and then to 'Show Advanced settings'.

Disable 'Open Spotify Automatically After You Turn on the Computer'.

Enable 'Close Button Should Minimize Spotify to the Tray.
