Have you checked CAPs lock is off?

Sometimes the password is already filled in so by typing it in it is added on and makes it wrong

What is your operating system?

Assuming Windows and your caps lock is not on, if you are really stuck and you have access to another computer to burn CD's then there are number of free utilites available on the internet to create a Boot-up CD that will enable reset of windows user account passwords. e.g. http://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/

Usually one is trying an old password having forgotten they changed it.
