Tcp Optimser Advice Please

I'm trying to speed up my pathetic internet -is this app safe please? and is it necessary? We are very rural and only getting 3.84 mb although allegedly 10mb (download ) is supposed to be available. Will this app help?

3.84Mbps is actually quite fast compared with many rural areas. (A lot of homes in rural parts of East Anglia still can't achieve 1Mbps).

TCP Optimizer is a safe program (although, whenever downloading any freebie, it's always best to watch out for any pre-ticked options to install 'extras' - such as unwanted toolbars - and ensure that you deselect any you find).

However it might also be worth asking your ISP to confirm that they're providing your with 'ADSL 2+', rather than the slower 'ADSL Max' (which is the basic product that BT Wholesale markets to third-party ISPs).

Buenchico -Thank you for your prompt reply. I've downloaded it but have to run it as administrator and did not want to go any further until I knew it was safe. I'll report back on its efficacy.
