How To Get My Canon Mg3650 To Work Off My Router

I have a sky router and my new Canon MG3650 printer wont connect to the wireless system - I need help please because I just can't find any non computer jargon threads that I can follow!

Click 'Download'
Run the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.

I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago. Tried getting it to work for some time then gave up and just stuck a cable in.

All wireless printers need your security 'key' which is individual to every router. The instruction manual with the printer will tell you how to set up wireless connectivity, without this set up done it cannot interact with your devices whether laptop, pc, tablet or even phone. I remember it being pretty exasperating when I did it. Your pc or whatever will also need to have the new printer recognised in devices.

Your Canon has a quick connect setup and does not need the code to be entered manually as long as your router is certified as safe.

Togo's first post seems to have forgotten about WPS, although that appears to have been remedied in his second one.

However the link provided is for the 'MG35' series, not the 'MG36' one and so might not be applicable.

The 'Quick setup' sheet provided with your printer deals with the connection process simply by telling you to download the installation file, run it and follow the on-screen directions. (Hence my own link, above).

None of this is working. I have a D-Link router and I am wondering if it is not able to connect as it is too old or something? How do I find out the MAC address of my printer?

Have you run the setup file (either from the download or from the CD)?
Did you get to the bit where you choose between a wireless connection and a wired one?
Did you then follow all of the on-screen instructions?
Did you then continue to install the drivers, etc?
Did you encounter any error messages while doing all of that?
If so, what did they say?
