I wonder if anyone can help with this?

I have bought new charger leads (proper Apple ones) but the dammed thing still won't charge. Could it be the connection in the iPad needs a fix rather than a new lead?

Try a hard reset. To hard reset:

Press and hold down both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time.
Keep them held down until you see an Apple logo.
Let go.
Also try plugging into a different outlet or USB port and see if your iPad starts to charge.
When you say proper Apple ones, I take it you mean from Apple and not from somewhere claiming they are Apple ones?

Hi,

The leads are supposedly Apple. One I got from the Apple Store but I left it in a hotel and got another from a repair shop that said it was an official Apple one but it never worked properly and when I took it back they plugged it in and it worked fine. Then I got the one back from the hotel but that doesn't work properly now.

It works intermittently if I wiggle it around a bit which makes me think it is the inside connection rather than the lead!!
It does sound like its a fault with the iPad itself then, you can either do it through Apple if it's in warranty or get it done in a local repair shop, shouldn't be no more than £40
