Choice of portable DVD player

Should I choose one with DivX? My shortlist has two, one with DivX and one without. What would be the advantage of paying more for DivX (excuse my ignorance!).

Depends if you think you may use the facility - by this I mean encoding your own stuff and copying it to CD or DVD to watch. You will need a PC for this and it takes time to encode it to the new format. The advantage is that you can record about 15 hours of video in DIVX format on a DVD and so not have to carry quite so many discs around with you.
Of course a lot of the file sharing sites like Limewire have programs and films and tv shows encoded in DIVX to as its a lot smaller download, so if you use them then by all means go for the DIVX player.
