I have already used my 15GB monthly allowance up in 2 weeks .I only normally use about 8Gb a month.I cannot understand why as i do not download or watch videos etc.Could something in the background be using a lot of data and if so how do I trace it. Thank you

One Drive is Microsoft's cloud storage. It means that all your files - documents, photos, music, videos etc - are backed up over the internet to secure drives elsewhere. This should be one big backup followed by regular little back ups of new files.

Interesting article about W10 here, possibly 'stealing' some data bandwidth and using your pc's storage for their own usage.

Hi whiston. Presuming that you are only connected to your hub wit your new laptop. No phones or printers etc. select the widows 4 panel icon bottom left on your screen. Select settings, Select Network and Internet, Select Data Usage. Select Usage details. W 10 has this built in.

Just another thought whiston. Upload and download will eat into your data allowance. I am on an unlimited data package so have not thought about it until I read your question. You will probably be sharing date in the background with windows ( which whilst being updated regularly, being new, may be considerable). You may want to again go to settings, Privacy, Feedback and Diagnostics, Then the Diagnostic and Usage panel. You can change this default setting to basic although Microsoft recommend full. This will cut your usage.
//OneDrive has become an important part of Microsoft’s platform, and in Windows 10 it’s baked right into the operating system.//
