Hi - my old printer C46 Epson Stylus wasn't working - I think I may have said before - but I got my neighbour's daughter who got it all connected and got it working.

I am just trying to print now some weeks after she has been here. Green light remains static - red light is flashing and won't print.

Page goes through - you hear the printer "allegedly" printing the document but page comes out blank. Anybody help as I really don't want to call the wee girl over again. Many thanks.

tuvok - thanks for the link and I have followed instructions of page 11 - there was some ink so I hadn't run out however, I have inserted new ink cartridge and am back to both green and red light blinking.

Hi Tuvok - switched off printer and now red light is not blinking (which is good) - green light is remaining static (which is good)

Go to print the recipe - and a message came up saying Printer is in error
May simply be in need of repair/maintenance. Not blocked jets is it ? Is there some menu item for cleaning the jets ?
Are the cartridges fully inserted properly ?

No stuck paper ?
I don't know whether it is still the case but epson printers used to have a piezo print head which was not replaced when the ink cartridge was changed as in bubble jet printers such as those made by HP. The consequence of this approach is that the print head can and does eventually get clogged.
Inkjet printers have absorbant pads inside for the waste ink. The printer also has a counter and when it reaches a certain value it won't print anymore until the pads are replaced.

I know this as it happened to 2 friends Epsons and the one of my work Epsons.

This is usually indicated by the lights on the printer - hence why I asked which state each were in!

Now the good news - if you're willing to do it!

You can open the printer (you'll find instructions on the internet), remove and rinse out the pads - a very very messy job. Dry them out, put them back in, rebuild the printer, the pn the tricky bit - depending on the printer there is either a button press sequence or a programme to download to reset the counter - and thus get the printer going again.

Or buy a new printer now that they cost so little.

thanks for your answers now my next question - I have decided to buy a new printer and have searched Amazon for what Fender suggested epson xp325 - will I have to get the wee girl back again - I have never loaded a printer.

Do sorta remember - do you insert a disc and then install - is it easy enough.
Some printers install printer before the disk, others disk first then printer.

thanks Tuvok - will get my friend's husband to do it as I certainly don't want to muck it up.
