Bt Youview Extra Channels

I've subscribed to the Kid's Channel for my grandchildren. However despite waiting 72 hours, I still can't view them. These channels start at 480 but my Guide only goes up to 220 and then jumps to 600.
I've spent about an hour in total on the phone to BT but just get told to wait 24 hours.
The text below comes from my confirmation email. Does it mean I have to leave my box switched on overnight and just leaving it on standby, is not enough?
"To view Extra TV channels (including sport channels) could take up to 24 hours to start working after your TV service has been activated. You'll need to leave your set-top box and BT Home Hub on and connected overnight. To activate the channels, select one in your TV Guide and select set up."
