Eee Pc Won't Turn Off

Hi I have a Eee PC, the indicator light is on and it is fully charged. I am unable to turn it off, any suggestions what I can try

You should be able to Press and hold the power button for approx 20-30 secs to force a power-off

Failing that remove the battery.

This probably wouldn't be recommended yet it works for me, I remove the battery and replace it after a while, reboot it and it works fine

As pinky says; next time you turn it on it will go through a checkdisk procedure; let it do this, then proceed as normal.

Thanks I will try all those and report back, bit worried at leaving it when I go to work in case it over heats, so will take it with me

Well I tried all those suggestions but no success, at least the battery has now run out of power and has turned itself off. I don't want to risk recharging the unit and think I will have to make a visit to the local techno. Thanks anyway to all who tried to help.

Best of luck, removing battery always worked for me
