Windows 10 Desktop Side Tile On Desktop

Over the past couple of days Windows 10 has changed on my pc. The side panel on the pc desktop has disappeared - the one that gives all the programmes, weather, photos, games etc etc. I don't know how to bring it back. Has anyone had this problem or is it just my problem. I have no idea why it went. I use spybot and ccleaner they are the only programmes that could have wiped something off, but I usually check before accepting any removals. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Do you mean the start menu? What happens when you click the Windows key on your keyboard?

Its the big tile on the desktop with all the information itemising programmes showing pictures, weather, etc. Its the large black tile on the left hand side of your desktop. It gives access to everything on Windows 10. Also on the very bottom left hand side of the taskbar you can click on it to bring this tile up. I cannot any longer !!! Everything has just vanished. All I have is my normal pictured desktop with program icons on it.

Thanks for your reply. Golly it's going to take me a while to work this one out. Thought there may have been a simpler solution - looks complicated but I will certainly give it a try. Thanks for your help - much obliged.
