Is There A Problem With Windows This Morning?
9 Answers
Since I got up, there seems to have been an issue with Windows, sites like this are working but anything involving connecting to my e-server and searches (both Edge and Google Chrome) are not really functioning. I've tried on two wifis......went for a system recovery and they suggested Microsoft support, getting a message back saying that they had problems there end and are working on it. I used this once before and they were excellent in debugging an issue/hangover from W8. W10 by the way here.....

The Inn manager has said that they have had wifi issues this week, so it may be just everything compounded, bearing in mind as well that it is middle of the night in the USA so there may well be work going on.
Thanks though - are you on 10 by the way? xx

A problem with Windows, do you mean YOUR Windows or everybody's Windows?
My Windows is working fie, as is the internet for me.
When you say you went for a "system recovery" and THEY (who?) suggested Microsoft support?
Also "they had problems their end", who had problems their end and would get back to you?
"I used this once before", you use WHAT once before?
What is the e server you are using?
Sounds to me like you have connectivity issues and somebody is looking at it for you (you don't say who).
I think this is specific to your computer and not too everyones.

yes, it does come across as a bit gruff.
That is what I am trying to ascertain, VHG, whether it's common on my pc - there's been no upgrades overnight that I am aware of. Sites like this are working but the connection to my e-mail (and I am not saying who ré my security) is only half appearing on their front page, neither are the Edge or Chrome search functioning properly.
In 10, if you go to recovery in settings, Microsoft suggests contacting their support team first....I had one issue before with a corrupt file and the support team got it sorted out very efficiently - in about 15 minutes of remote management of my pc. I have tried three times this morning and after a wee bit of whirring, received the message, "We have problems this end and are working on it" - hence my question of whether this was a generic or specific problem.
Connectivity to a BT router at the house was fine, it's okay here too but the Inn where I am having a couple of coffees, as per the Sunday norm, have been having issues upstream from their routers as well.....there is no one that I am aware looking in - or even over my shoulder. My security programme Bullguard is clean as to any incoming viruses.
