I asked this last year and was advised to wait to see how it all goes i`m using windows 7 and want to know is it worth changing to windows 10 all advice appreciated ?
This is often discussed on here and you'll those that love W10 and will encourage you to install it now, like me, and those like Old Geezer who will caution you to wait.
I have been using it for over a year since it was available in beta testing. I have had no problems on my two desktops and elderly netbook. I find the machines boot up a lot quicker, don't get as hot and W10 is easy to use.
W10 is a vast improvement over W8 - almost as good as W7 :-)
In other words, personally (and speaking as someone who has 2 machines running W10) if I were you, I'd stick with W7.
Several years ago I upgraded to Windows Vista from XP I lost a perfectly good printer because HP didn't provide drivers for Vista (quite an old printer). I am now cautious about upgrading from Widows 7 to 10 in case the same problem arises. Windows 7 works, Windows 10 may give you problems or make some of your peripherals not work; if you have no problems, why change?
Definitely stick with W7. My husband has upgraded to W10 (from W8) and it's a nightmare. I'm still with W7 which is great and I have no intention of changing.
I have updated all of my computers to Windows 10 The only thing that I found was that you have to make sure that all of the updates on the OS you are currently using are downloaded and installed. All your installed programs are working properly and you have run the Windows 10 compatibility program as well to make sure that everything is ok. Allow your self a few hours to download and install it Make sure you know your Microsoft live ID Number and password .
I've just looked in the W10 store and there are at least 3 free backgammon games. As I don't play I don't know if they are any good, but they are there
Media Player has disappeared but the free VLC was always much better.
Icons are the same.
Most people find W10 faster. He should check the drivers to make sure they are all up to date.
