Transferring Photos
6 Answers
Idiot that I am, when the family was over here for the biennial visit at Christmas I was so busy enjoying myself that I forgot to take many photos. The three I have were taken on my camera (Olympus), and they are also now on Picasa and in Windows pictures. Is there any way of transferring them from the desktop (Windows 7) to my phone (Samsung Galaxy S III mini), so that I can take them around with me?

Open the Photos (or Google Photos) app on your phone. It may need to download a new version. When downloaded go into the Settings and select Backup and Sync.
Now EVERY photo you take on your phone will be automatically uploaded to the Google Photos web site without you doing ANYTHING.
Now go to your laptop and open your browser and go to the Google Photos web site (photos.google.com) and logon with the email address you use on your phone.
This will show you any photos you have (and any that have been uploaded from your phone).
Now find the family photos on your laptop and drag and drop them in the browser window.
Now they are in Google Photos on the web, and they will automatically be downloaded to your phone.
So now you have an easy of moving photos between phone and laptop and laptop and phone.
No need for all the silly stuff about emailing them to yourself.
