Cordless Mouse

I bought an Acer laptop just over twelve months ago and at the same time purchased a cordless mouse. Almost from day one I had problems with the internet connection dropping off. Despite going to my broadband provider (Virgin) and taking back to P.C World (ere they told me they could find no problems) it carried on happening. Any way this evening I started having problems with the mouse so decided I would have to try and manage with the mouse pad on the laptop. Guess what I have been on the internet for the best part of four hours now with no problem. Pure coincidence orhas the mouse been the problem i am nearly 65 now and technology is not my strog t.all along.

I have difficulty imagining how a wireless mouse could possibly interfere with a broadband connection. But tech is a strange beast.

Cordless mice are generally either Bluetooth and/or RF (close range radio). They aren't internet wireless connected.

Some strange answers on here.
Many cordless mice operate in the 2.4 Ghz range, which is also used by WiFi. If you use a WiFi connection rather than a cable for your laptop, then it's possible that the mouse was generating interference.

The only other option I could offer bearing in mind 'TheChair' comments is concerning the wi fi signal from the router.

If you have Virgins Superhub, it is capable of broadcasting in 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. Make sure the router is switched on for 5Ghz and connect your laptop via wifi to that band.
